Locul întuneric

Nocturne listened quietly, his eyes flickering between everyone before resting on the two who stood as leaders. Codex had asserted his position as the alpha male, but there was no denying that Amaya would be the alpha female. She was kind and absentmindedly gave herself the position, though it was not yet known to her. The black male stepped forward and dipped his head towards the two of them. He would follow them loyally and through fire and flames. There were his leaders, the ones he would trust with his life to do that best for what could be the pack. His eyes met all those that were around him before turning back to the two wolves who stood side by side.

"I'm in because I think the two of you will do what is the best for us." He spoke loudly enough that everyone would be able to hear him, though no authority was in his voice. Nocturne dipped his head and stepped back.

The beast nodded at Annabel and Nocturne, they were with him. Alongside him, Amaya, Cernealo, and Andra. The only one left was... Sunset. Turning to her, he awaited her response. He couldn't be so sure that she would say yes, she may reject his offer. He couldn't expect all to say yes.

The silence that stretched between the pack and Sunset seemed to last an eternity. Amaya truly hoped that the female would join, not because it would help the pack's numbers but because Sunset did seem like a really interesting wolf. Her paws shuffled slightly as she continued to watch the female with tentative eyes.

Andra snorted, the cold air in the forest made the breath that puffed through her nose see able in the dark forest. She was annoyed at how long the she-wolf was taking to respond, she just wanted to get out of this darkened forest and see the light of day again. "If she doesn't answer soon I say we just leave her." Andra could care less about this wolf, she had barley even met this black female.

He sighed. Looking amongst his newly-found pack, he said, "We cannot stay forever. We must look for a more suitable area though in this forest. This is our land."

Walking out of the area, Codex began to search for a den or a clearing of sorts. His paws crunched on the needles of pines, the darkness concealing him more as he explored further into the depths.

Amaya glanced once more at the others before following Codex and Annabel. If the others didn't follow now, it was their choice. To be honest, she wanted every single one of the others to come with them because for the first time in a long time, she felt like she was at home. Such a feeling was one that she never wanted to lose again. However, she'd be happy as long as she wasn't alone again. Who knows, perhaps she'd find love in this pack. She smiled at the thought before disappearing into the darkness of the forest. Not looking back.

Andra inhaled deeply and followed the pack she had committed herself to. She wasn't the most social wolf and would prefer to keep to herself but she had already spoke, no going back now, what have you gotten yourself into? She thought to herself.

The sky invaders were closing in. She gasped and ducked down. They were onto her; the little devils must know she was hiding from them! Their beady, merciless eyes stared at her from their place in the sky, their sharp, indestructible talons curled into fists. They may have been no bigger than the size of small pinecones, but these things were utterly monstrous. Her eyes widened as one ventured forward to perch on the branch directly in front of her. Flattening her ears against her head, she could only watch as that thing hopped forward once. Twice. Three times. That vile beast! She began to weakly growl to ward the demon off, but then it preformed the most wretched thing possible. It cocked its head to the side, opened its smooth, mouth-like weapon of mass destruction, and chirped.

Sook yelped and tried to run away from the sparrow as fast as her paws would take her. Only, her paws only took her one step, before she was sent tumbling out of the tree. The brush beneath her did nothing to cushion her fall, but rather, made it pricklier. After a moment of listening to the crash echo through the forest, Sook cracked her eyes open.

She groaned as her surroundings decided to dance around her, refusing to stay in the same place. Woozily rising to her feet and leaning against a tree for support, she noticed that it had gotten noisier than it was before. She blinked, and stared up into the tree. The little barbarians had started an uproar of cheeps, chirps, squeaks, and squawks. Sook scowled, and shouted to them, "You may think y-you've won now, but just you wait!"

He stopped, hearing the shout of a female. Holding up his tail, he said, "Hold up. I hear something." The auburn male began to dash towards the shriek, his nose twitching for a sliver of scent. That's when he saw a white female, with dust, twigs, and leaves clinging to her fleece. He didn't see anyone there. "What's wrong?" He asked urgently.

She was still glaring at the murderous little beasts when someone slipped under her radar. “What’s wrong?” an urgent voice asked. Sook squeaked, her body going rigid and her breath hitching. They must have been summoning reinforcements by making so much noise! Of course, she should have seen it coming! Wheeling around, she found the owner of the voice that had spoken to those demons.

Oh good censoring magical unicorns. This one was HUGE. While the others were at largest the size of her paw, this one was like three of her combined. Sure, it lacked it’s brethren’s talons, weapons of mass destruction, and weird feathery growths that allowed them to steal the sky, but it made up for it with rows of razor-sharp fangs, rigid claws, and, the worst part of all, something that looked like tiny, multi-colored needles all over it’s body. Sook slowly took a step back, and another, before, to her horror, another one joined the first.

She was dead. She was going to die. Those little monsters really would win, after all. The second one may have been a bit smaller, but it was purely lethal, she was sure of it. Unable to stop herself from trembling, she warned lamely, “S-stay back!”

"Calm down, we're not going to hurt you. We only want to help." He said calmly. What was she so afraid of? Sure, he was tall. But he wasn't muscly at all, more lanky and thin. More of a runner and less of a fighter.

Amaya quickly joined Codex and Annabel the second she heard Codex speak. Another newcomer? The dark furred female wagged her tail happily at the thought. She stopped along side Codex and looked at the wolf before them. It was a female, one who looked scared out of her wits. What was wrong? Did she think that they were going to hurt her. Amaya's heart went out to the frightened female.

"We won't harm you." She murmured softly, hearing Codex say the same thing.

Leaning over to his co-alpha, he whispered in her ear, "Do you think we should send some dispareas to scout out the area?" Leaning back over, he kept his eyes trained on the ashen female. He began to think if she was afraid of someone attacking her... or afraid of something small. He had seen delirious wolves before. Though was she so delirious that she couldn't make out one of her own kind? Just in case, Codex was going to take it a step farther and request the territory be mapped.

The large one stepped forward, spouting some nonsense (ironic, the use of that word, isn’t it?) about how he meant no harm. Trying to lull her into a false sense of security, was he? She saw right through his clever disguise; the only problem was, he was still bigger than her, and she was still going to die.

Sook flattened her ears against her cranium at the sight of another approaching. However, this one appeared sympathetic towards her. Another trick, maybe? “We won’t harm you.” It spoke in a gentle tone. For some reason, even though she knew far too well that there shouldn’t be, this one felt safer to be around. Wait… could she be a sorceress, using some invisible black magic to lead her to her demise?! A creature of such magnificent power wouldn’t need to team up with those demons she battled in the tree, would it? “You… You are you on their side?” she asked the trio untrustingly.

"We are on no side." He replied simply. He needed to get through to her; show her that they were wolves, nothing more.

What was with all these mind games? “We are on no side.” It says. Can’t they just kill her and have it done with right there and then, with out humoring her? Of course they had some side! Even rogues had sides! “We are not going to hurt you, but what do you mean by sides?” Sook looked at the second one in mild surprise. Maybe she was wrong…? Or it was all a trick… Deciding to take a leap of faith, Sook explained, “T-the sky invaders… you’re with them…?” Either she was wrong, and they actually were not here to kill her, or they were toying her, delaying her death. At this point, she hoped it was the latter. Maybe they would help her defeat those wretched beasts!

"I don't know of any 'sky-invaders'. All I know is that we're here to help you." Said Codex, soothingly. Maybe this was a potential member..? She had the makings of a disparea. All she needed now was to trust him.
